What We Investigate
Suspicious activity is not automatically proof of fraud or criminal conduct. Every finding is treated as a lead for review and must be supported by verifiable evidence.
Buyer and Seller Scams
Investigate publicly observable evidence of suspected scams involving buyers, sellers, listings and communications related to marketplace transactions.
Fake Seller Profiles
Document suspicious seller profiles, misleading storefronts and potential connections between publicly accessible accounts and fraudulent activity. Shared ownership is only stated when the evidence supports it.
Phishing and Payment Scams
Investigate suspicious links, fake payment notifications, impersonation messages and external websites that attempt to deceive marketplace users.
Fraudulent Listings
Identify potentially deceptive product listings, suspicious offers and misleading advertisements using evidence that can be lawfully accessed.
Brand Impersonation
Investigate websites, social media profiles and messages that appear to impersonate Vinted or falsely claim to represent the company.
Off-Platform Fraud
Investigate suspicious external websites and payment requests that encourage users to leave legitimate marketplace processes.
Coordinated Fraud Patterns
Research potential connections between publicly accessible websites, domains, advertisements and other digital infrastructure associated with suspected marketplace fraud.
Counterfeit and Misrepresented Products
Document relevant evidence of potentially counterfeit products or misleading product representations, where within the authorised investigation scope.
Why this matters
Building Trust in Second-Hand Commerce
Second-hand marketplaces connect millions of buyers and sellers, but users can also encounter phishing, fraudulent listings, impersonation and scams designed to move transactions outside legitimate channels.
AbuseOne provides a structured approach to investigating suspicious online activity, documenting evidence and identifying relevant investigative leads for further assessment.
Independent Research
Use structured OSINT and digital investigation methods to examine suspicious online activity within an authorised scope.
Evidence-Based Reporting
Document relevant URLs, timestamps, screenshots, source references and the limitations of each investigation.
Actionable Intelligence
Organise findings into structured reports that help the responsible business assess suspicious activity and determine appropriate next steps.
How It Works
- 01
Submit a Report
Submit information about a suspicious listing, seller profile, phishing message, website or other relevant digital activity through the AbuseOne reporting workflow.
- 02
Investigate
Eligible submissions are reviewed by AbuseOne and may be investigated by independent researchers where appropriate and within an authorised scope.
- 03
Document Findings
Relevant findings are compiled into a structured report containing supporting evidence, source references, investigative limitations and confidence assessments.
Reports are received and reviewed by AbuseOne, not by Vinted. Submitting a report does not guarantee that it will be accepted, escalated or acted upon.
What researchers can submit
Submit Relevant Findings
Reports should explain what was observed, why the activity appears suspicious and which sources support the findings.

- Fake payment or delivery notifications
- Suspicious external payment requests
- Potentially fraudulent listings supported by verifiable evidence
- Publicly observable patterns involving suspected scam infrastructure
